Keep in touch with our GO Kenya teams! Check Pastor Cashwell's updates >MORE
This year we're preparing to dedicate the Suba New Testament translation that Calvary Church has sponsored for many years! Two GO Trips have been planned, as we help prepare for the dedication ceremony in December 2010.
July 6–20 The first GO Kenya Team will consist of outreaches to Kenya public schools on Mfangano Island, construction of new homes for widows, and local pastor training.
July 15–29 The second GO Kenya Team will join medical and dental staff from the US and Kenya to provide medical and dental treatment and education. This team will also share in local pastor training.
The Suba people live near Lake Victoria in western Kenya. Many areas lack electricity, running water, roads, and telephone service. Calvary initially partnered with Wycliffe in 1994 for a Suba Bible translation project, and the mission has grown to include construction of a literacy center, medical outreach, support of the Gethsemane Garden Christian Centre orphanage and school, building houses for AIDS widows, and discipleship training for local pastors.
