Thursday, November 25 Coordinators: Wayne & Shirley Hackbarth, 704.567.9105 Every Thanksgiving, folks at Calvary prepare and distribute meals for families in need in our community. It's a tradition of sharing that has carried forward for over 20 years. Here's how you can help: Just roast a turkey (fully-cooked, un-stuffed) or bake a homemade pie and bring it to Calvary on Thanksgiving morning between 6:00–9:30. Or help us prepare traditional side dishes in the Calvary kitchen, then box and deliver turkey dinners with all the "fixin's" and a Bible to families who need a helping hand.
Volunteers should register in advance so we can determine the number of families we're able to serve on Thanksgiving day. Sign-up in the Galleria during the month of November.
2009 Update • Thank you for providing 185 turkeys and pies — enough for 125 dinner boxes for needy families plus extra turkeys and side dishes for the homeless outreach in Dalton Village. A Bible was also delivered with every turkey dinner! Because of your generosity approximately 1000 people were fed this Thanksgiving. Thank you!
