Coordinators: Mike Radesky, 704.544.6524, Tom Bush, 704.347.0110 Calvary volunteer serve the Uptown Shelter & Street Ministry by cooking and serving breakfast to hundreds of people every Saturday at the Uptown Shelter and also on the streets at N. Tryon and Phifer. New volunteers are always welcome — individuals, families, groups, and classes may sign up to serve on a specific date. You may help with the food preparation and/or help transport and serve the meals. Duties Help cook breakfast in Calvary’s 3rd floor kitchen beginning at 6:30 AM. We prepare eggs, bacon, grits, potatoes, gravy, biscuits, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, coffee, tea, and orange juice, and then put the food into containers and on carts for other volunteers to take to the Shelter and the streets. Food coordinators: Tom Bush (food prep) and Mike Radesky (food service). We meet outside the main Calvary Galleria entrance (Rea Road side) at 7:45 AM to load food into vehicles, pray together, and then leave Calvary at 8:00 AM for both downtown locations. We usually return to Calvary by 10:30 AM. Volunteer coordinator: Mike Radesky Sign up to help in the >Serving Center "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'
