Special Needs

The Special Needs Ministry at Calvary welcomes all ages and abilities! Guests (including parents and caregivers) are always invited to join us. We focus on providing our students with opportunities to worship, grow in their faith, and serve our church and community.


Sunday Morning Program


We’re excited to welcome you to worship God with us on Sunday mornings! We offer classes at 9:45 AM during the worship service and at 11:15 AM during the Life Group hour.

  • Children & Teens meet in Room 101 for a Bible lesson, engaging activities, and fellowship.  
  • Young Adults & Adults meet in Room 100. They participate in part of the worship service alongside their group leader and “buddies” in the Sanctuary before returning to Room 100 for a Bible lesson, activities, and fellowship time. 

Visiting for the first time? Please stop by the Family Welcome Desk on the first floor near the elevators. We’ll help you register and get to the appropriate classroom.

As a ministry community, our group fellowship activities may include dinners, pool parties, bowling, strawberry picking, holiday shopping, respite events for caregivers/parents, the annual Luke 14 Banquets, and more! Please feel free to contact us with any questions about the program.

    Special Needs 139 Praise
    Wednesdays, 6:30–8:00 PM

    for Special Needs students ages 14+


    Wednesdays, January 10–May 8
    6:30–8:00 PM, Room 242

    "139 Praise" meets on Wednesday evenings, concurrently with Children's Bible Clubs and Elective Bible Studies. In this group, students will praise God through music, movement, and art.

    Our Special Needs VBS program is FULL, but we are keeping a waitlist. You may register for the waitlist below, and we will contact you if a spot opens for your child.

    SPECIAL NEEDS WAITLIST

    There will be a small group for younger students (5–13 years old) and a group for older students (14+ years old). 

     

    The Great Jungle Journey

    An Epic Cruise from Genesis to Revelation


    Every day, our kids are bombarded with questions: Did God really create everything? Why do bad things happen? Was Noah’s ark real? Why do I need to be saved? Can I trust the Bible?

    At VBS, your kids will explore the biblical answers to these questions as they set off on an epic adventure from Genesis to Revelation. Amid sloths, butterflies, river dolphins, and dart frogs, your children will sail along on a fun jungle cruise, stopping at seven ports of call. These ports are the 7 C’s of History: Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe, Confusion, Christ, Cross, and Consummation. Kids will discover how these events shape our world, and they will learn to reconnect the Bible to their everyday lives.

    Join us for The Great Jungle Journey: An Epic Cruise from Genesis to Revelation. This VBS journey will take your kids to a world of wonder that will delight their senses and captivate their hearts and minds!

    The cost is $25 per child — including a VBS T-shirt, crafts, materials, & snacks.

    Special Needs Program Registration
    Participants register annually

    Calvary is pleased to welcome children, students, and young adults with special needs to participate in our growing ministry!

    Each year, special needs families must complete a student registration. This information helps us provide care and support for every student so they can grow in their faith, participate fully in church activities, and become all God created them to be.

    Joni & Friends
    Family Retreats

    Joni & Friends Family Retreats offer a haven for families living with disability. In a fully accessible camp environment, families are cared for, rejuvenated, and encouraged in Christ. Enjoy a fun, Christ-centered environment that is safe and accepting for each member of the family. During this time of respite, you will build lasting memories and find renewed hope as you take part in Bible study, accessible activities, and opportunities to connect with other families who face similar challenges.
