Crown Room Since 1995, Calvary Church has invited families with "Special Needs" members in the Charlotte area to the Luke 14 Banquet during the Christmas season. These special events include: - A festive meal, with a member of Calvary hosting each table
- A program with singing, testimonies, and a Gospel message
- A gift for each guest (700+ needed for those who are disabled and their caregivers)
Every year, approximately 300 Calvary volunteers are trained to interact with our guests, who have a wide variety of disabilities. Last year over 650 guests attended. Each December Calvary offers TWO Luke 14 Banquets to better serve the needs of our many guests: Luke 14 Family Banquet Saturday, December 11 5:30 PM, Crown Room This dinner is for families with "Special Needs" members.
Luke 14 Luncheon Tuesday, December 14 11:30 AM, Crown Room This luncheon is for "Special Needs" friends in group homes within our community.
The Luke 14 events are truly a highlight of Calvary's Christmas celebrations. As a result, Calvary has a heightened understanding of the needs of families with disabilities and hopefully can minister more effectively in this area.
Volunteers are needed to serve as table host, greeters, gift processors, gift givers, and food servers.
Required training: Wednesday, December 1 or December 8 5:30–7:00 PM • Room 232
