In 2025, Jim Cashwell accepted the call to serve as Executive Pastor at Calvary Church after filling the Missions & Outreach Pastor role for many years.

Jim’s calling is to disciple believers and equip the church to follow Christ’s example of “seeking and saving that which is lost.” He is passionate about teaching God’s Word, discipling others, and leading the church to be and make authentic followers of Christ.

Jim joined the pastoral team in 2009 as Pastor of Missions. For over two years, he left to serve as the area director of Joni & Friends, an international ministry to people with disabilities. During that time, he continued to be a member of Calvary. He then returned as Pastor of Missions.

Jim was born and raised in Eastern North Carolina and asked Jesus Christ to be his Savior and Lord at age nine. He graduated from Campbell University and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has served churches in North and South Carolina for over forty years.

He is married to Anna, a native Charlottean. God has blessed them with six children: Josh, Jared (Tessa), Jake, Rachel (Nolan), Rebekah (Nick), and Sam, plus five grandchildren: Olive, Theo, Evelyn, Snyder, and Ellie.
