Summary: Calvary Church is seeking a dependable and experienced Cook to join our Food Services Department. This position is responsible for preparing nutritious meals for the Calvary Child Development Center, daily lunch specials for church staff and campus guests, and assisting with catering events as needed.

The ideal candidate enjoys working in a team environment, prepares quality food, and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare daily meals for the Calvary Child Development Center, mainly serving in the first-floor kitchen.
  • Prepare daily lunch specials for church staff and campus visitors.
  • Follow standardized recipes, menus, portion control, and presentation guidelines.
  • Prepare food items in advance for daily meal service.
  • Monitor food rotation, inventory, and food quality.
  • Monitor and record food and equipment temperatures.
  • Operate and maintain commercial kitchen equipment safely.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, walk-in coolers, and storage areas.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
  • Assist with catering events as needed.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Food Services Manager or Assistant Manager.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of experience in a commercial kitchen.
  • Knowledge of food preparation, inventory management, and food safety practices.
  • ServSafe Certification required.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to excellence.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Demonstrate a Christian spirit of service and teamwork.
  • Maintain professionalism and integrity.
  • Be dependable, organized, and self-motivated.
