Trusting God in Tough Times
Teacher: Pastor Jim Pile | Room 401

Trusting God while living in our sin-cursed world can be extremely challenging at times. Each day may bring a new set of struggles. There are some things in our Christian life that leave us feeling overwhelmed and totally discouraged. How can we better handle these difficult trials? Join us as we explore the Scriptures that give us hope in the Lord as we navigate the challenges and issues of the Christian life.

How to Study the Bible
Teacher: Andrew McIntyre | Room 446

The Bible is central to the life and faith of a Christian, yet it can often be complicated and difficult to understand. It can be especially challenging to grasp because it was written by approximately 40 authors in different styles, using two very different languages, over more than a millennium. In this class, we will consider some helpful tools to aid in effective Bible study so that we can be like the faithful Bereans in Acts 17:10-12, who were commended for how they wrestled with the biblical text together as they daily sought the Lord with eagerness.

Titus: Living Out the Grace of God
Teacher: Pastor Sibu Rajappan | Room 1200

God’s grace not only saves — it also reshapes how we live. The short but powerful epistle calls believers to maturity, good works, and a life that points others to Christ. Our study of the book of Titus will teach us how to live out and grow in our faith.

The Protestant Reformation and Beyond: Understanding the Christian Faith — Part 2
Teacher: Dr. Bob Mayer | Room 222

Calvary Church is a Protestant Church. What does it mean to be Protestant (and not Catholic or Eastern Orthodox)? This 12-week class will examine the Protestant Reformation and its impact on Christianity in the United States. We will examine four major 17th-century Protestant movements, discuss how Christianity migrated from Europe to America, and survey how the Christian faith has been practiced in the United States since the American Revolution. All along the way, we will look together at how these lessons apply to Christians today.

Biblical Theology: A Redemptive-Historical Lens — Part 2
Teacher: Jon Allen | Room 445

This class focuses on the discipline of biblical theology, which traces how God has revealed Himself and His plan of redemption progressively throughout Scripture, culminating in Christ. Unlike topical studies that ask, “What does the Bible teach about this subject?” biblical theology asks, “How did God make this truth known across time and through His Word?” Using the Gospel of John as our primary lens, we will examine its background, themes, and key passages to see how John’s unique account fits into the larger story of God’s saving work. Together, we will learn to read Scripture not just as isolated passages, but as part of the unfolding drama of God’s redemptive plan.

A Biblical View of Wealth and God’s Good Gifts
Teacher: Ryan Smith | Room 238

This class explores how Christians can fully enjoy God’s good gifts without slipping into idolatry. Together we’ll learn how to delight in the “things of earth” in ways that honor the Lord. This class will help us enjoy creation as a pathway to worship the Giver and Creator.

Spanish Bible Study
Teacher: Bill Ogden | Room 242

Our topic will be “The Fruit of the Spirit.” This group is taught in Spanish without translation.
