A Biblical Look at Roman Catholicism
Teacher: Pastor John Munro | Banquet Room
Pastor Munro will examine Roman Catholic teaching on authority and tradition. It will be contrasted with the teaching of the Holy Scriptures. There may also be time to consider the Roman Catholic theology of Mary.
Postmodernism: Its Draw, Dangers, and our Defense
Teacher: Pastor Nathaniel Pearce | Room 402
Postmodernism impacts every facet of our culture and has a dangerous allure. It is espoused by many, pushed by educators, and affects our morality. Yet many believers do not understand it, cannot identify it, nor defend Scripture against it. Come learn about postmodernism, its draw, some dangers, and the believer’s defense of absolute truth.
Strengthening Our Dependence on God
Teacher: Pastor Jim Pile | Room 401
How is your prayer life? In practice, if we “pray without ceasing,” that gives credence to our total dependency upon the Lord (1 Thessalonians 5:17). How can we improve our prayer life? Join us in this class as we examine Scripture for biblical principles, examples, and commands regarding our prayer lives as we endeavor to strengthen our dependence on God.
2 Timothy: Be and Make Authentic Followers of Christ
Teacher: Pastor Sibu Rajappan | Room 1200
Followers of Christ are called not only to hold firmly to sound doctrine and live it out in the face of many challenges, but also to pass it on to the next generation and help them do the same. In his farewell letter, the apostle Paul provides clear, practical instructions on how to do this well. Join us to strengthen your walk with Jesus and learn how “to be and make authentic followers of Christ.”
How to Study the Bible
Teachers: Pastors Cameron Engle & Micah Burdett | Room 446
The Bible is central to the life and faith of a Christian, yet it can be complex and difficult to understand. It can be challenging to grasp because it was written by approximately 40 authors in different styles, using two very different languages, over more than a millennium. In this class, we will explore helpful tools for studying, understanding, and applying the Word of God in our daily lives.
Spanish Bible Study
Teacher: Bill Ogden | Room 242
Our topic will be “The Fruit of the Spirit.” This group is taught in Spanish without translation.
